Sasha.B.B.B · Boca Raton Book

One day · Boca Raton · for working technicians

Everyone teaches the hands. I also teach the client.

Three hours of theory, five at the table, and the part of this job that almost nobody puts into a curriculum: what happens in the room while you work.

8 h3 theory · 5 practice
5people in a group, no more
$1,000per person, one price for everyone

Why the practice half is bigger

Theory you can read anywhere. Practice is where all of us are weak — we are all theorists until the hand moves.

How this started

A salon owner asked me to train her team, and it went eight hours.

Boca Raton, inside one of those communities with a pool, a gym and a spa. Six nail technicians in the room; I taught five, since the sixth only does pedicures.

I wrote a different small lesson for each of them, because they did not arrive with the same problem: one is allergic to gel, another does not trust gels at all. The rest was shared — dry technique, e-file control, and an honest tour of the bits, including the two or three where economising costs you clients.

They had been working their own way for years and were not thrilled that a stranger was coming to change it. That is the honest part. The part I am glad about is that they let me.

The day

Three hours, then five.

The bench

I teach on the things I work on.

Luxio gel by Akzéntz — seven years on it, because the formula does not move under me. A Marathon machine. Staleks scissors, the curved ones. Bring your own tools if you like; if you want to be taught on your own materials instead, say so beforehand and we plan the day around it, with the trade-offs of yours and mine on the table.

Dip is not part of this class. I teach what I work on, and I do not work on dip — if there is demand, it will be its own class, taught properly, not bolted onto this one.

Straight answers

The part most schools leave vague.

What to book

Three ways in. One price is fixed, two are by arrangement.

The group day

$1,000 · five to eight people · eight hours

Three hours of theory, five at the table on a live model. You are corrected while your hand is still moving, which is the only correction that holds.

Eight is the ceiling. One teacher cannot safely watch more hands than that.

Your team, at your salon

By arrangement

I come to you. A different small lesson for each technician, because they do not arrive with the same problem — one is allergic to gel, another does not trust gels at all.

Done once already, eight hours, six in the room.

One–to–one

By arrangement

One case, or one thing your hand keeps doing wrong. For a technician who does not want a room of other people watching her be corrected.

Shorter than a day. Say what you want fixed.

Say no to this day if any of these is true.

  • You have never worked on a paying client. This sharpens what you already do; it does not start you.
  • You want a certificate to hang more than you want your hand to change.
  • You are looking for the cheapest training day in Florida. There is one, and it is not this.
  • You want to be told your work is good. I will stop you mid-motion, and it is not flattering.
