Dry e-file preparation. Hard gel. No acrylic and no dip at this table — if that is your craft, this is the wrong studio, and that is not a judgement of it.

The room

You are here twenty minutes before the client. You warm your hands before you touch hers: cold fingers cost the level, and the client feels it before she can name it.

Sharpness reads as anxiety. Smoothness reads as premium. You do not open the conversation — she does. Between her sentences there are pauses, not agreement noises every three seconds.

The close

The terminal is held in two hands like an expensive object, screen turned to her. You step half a pace aside and do not look at the screen. Card and phone come back in two hands.

You never ask for a tip, never mention what other clients leave, never comment on the amount, and never let it show when there is none.

Speed is not hurry. It is the absence of chaos.

Short nails are an hour and a half: ten minutes to take the old work off, thirty for the manicure and the form, thirty to forty–five for the coat. That hour and a half comes from order — the tray laid out, the bit already chosen, nothing hunted for mid–service. If your plan for working faster is to move faster, we will not agree, and it is better to know that now than in month three.

Say no to this if

You do not hold a Florida Nail Specialist licence and are not on your way to one.
You want to bring acrylic or dip with you. We do not offer them.
You would rather be told your work is good than have it corrected while your hand is still moving.
Quiet with a client feels to you like something went wrong. Here it is often the service itself.

If you are only starting out

We are not a school and we cannot be your first step. Florida requires a Nail Specialist licence, and the hours behind it come from a licensed school — that is Chapter 477 of the Florida Statutes, not our preference. Get licensed, work on paying clients, and then write to us: the training day exists to correct hands that already have habits.
